Position Overview

The Heavy Haul Transport Call Taker/Scheduler will demonstrate exceptional communication skills, a strong sense of urgency, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service. This position is responsible for handling incoming calls, accurately entering call details into our dispatch software, and coordinating efficient truckload transportation.

Essential Functions

• Coordinate the scheduling and transportation of truckloads to ensure efficient and timely deliveries.
• Promptly receive and respond to both emergency and non-emergency phone calls.
• Accurately gather and record all pertinent information, including customer name and contact details, disablement and drop locations, vehicle information, and cause of breakdown.
• Provide outstanding customer service to all callers, representing Stepps with professionalism and care.
• Efficiently, professionally, and in a non-intrusive way, communicate deep product knowledge and its benefits to customers.
• May also engage in upselling or cross-selling services during customer interactions, contributing to the company's sales performance.
  
• Perform the duties of Dispatcher Assistant as needed in their absence.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Prior knowledge of Heavy Haul Transport is required.
• Proven experience in data entry and customer service.
• Ability to perform effectively in high-stress or emergency.
• Excellent organizational and time-management capabilities.
• Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Strong team player with exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Pay

• $17 - $18

Schedule

• Monday to Friday - 12 pm to 8 pm
